This course enables students to develop their information management skills. Modules reflect a range of issues that information managers currently face and they are taught by academics with in-depth practical experience. The university has an extremely successful track record in producing library and information graduates of the highest calibre.

All of our library and information courses are accredited by CILIP, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.
Course structure
The modules are delivered in intensive mode. This involves the following stages: pre-attendance work; attendance period of 3 consecutive days; independent study and post-attendance work. All students have access to our electronic learning environment, studentcentral, where they are able to download course materials and communicate with lecturers and fellow students. This mode of delivery particularly suits part-time students who have work commitments and may not live in the Brighton area. Details of approved hotel accommodation in Brighton are provided when students enrol on the course.
Areas of study
The syllabus reflects the latest developments in the world of information work and allows students to choose from a range of modules appropriate to their continuing professional development needs. All modules are worth 20 credits with the exception of the final project/dissertation which is worth 60 credits. The following numbers of credits are required to achieve the awards below:
